The aim of this course is to make students aware of recent developments in techniques that are complementary and/or alternative to pharmacological means of treating cancer.

The program will include a general introduction to the state of the art in surgery, the major themes/needs and their specific issues. This will be followed by three parts of equal length:

  • Part A - The surgery of tomorrow
  • Part B - Focal destruction by non-ionizing physical means
  • Part C - Radiotherapy

Teaching will be carried out by specialists in the relevant fields.
